The Silence & Purity of Snow: I find winter to be one of the most inspirational and spiritual times of the year. There is nothing compared to the purity and silence after a winter or spring snowstorm. I have had some of my most powerful spiritual experiences during a walk after a snowstorm. The silence is almost deafening. The snow gently covers each branch and twig and scrub to highlight its own beauty in contrast to the dark brown bark of the trees standing tall.

Winter Footprints: Many of us know the famous footprints photo on the sand. Well, in February of 2004, after a snowstorm I went to Park Lake. It seemed that I was not the only person to be moved to go to the lake. As you visit this gallery you will find many inspirational scenes depicting the purity and silence of winter. However, one of the inspirational pictures I am proudest of is called “Winter Footprints” “Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only true friendship will leave footprints in your heart”. Reminders of Winter: As the snow begins to melt it often creates another magnificent picture: icicles hanging from rooftops and gutters. The sky and sun looks warm and inviting, but the icicles remind us that it is still winter. I had an opportunity to take pictures from one side of the icicles, looking out to the inviting warmth of the sunlight and blue sky. The message that came to me was powerful. This picture is called “Icicles” and the inspirational and spiritual saying is “Forgiveness Brings New Life.” As long as we harbor resentment and anger toward someone or God we are ‘isolated’ from the world which is inviting us to new life. The only response to freeing ourselves from this state of isolation is forgiveness. Forgiveness is for ourself, no one else.
