Mary is a very important person in the Christian experience. Mary is the ultimate example of humility and trust in God, even when she did not understand exactly what was being asked of her. She did trust God and said “Yes” to God’s request for her to bear God’s son and bring him into this world.

Mary provides a fully human example of inspiration and spiritual faith. Her life was not easy and comfortable at all. She struggled with the challenges of daily life, of even watching her son die on the cross as a criminal, and yet each day she said “Yes, God.”

Today we have the advantage of receiving her intercession when our life gets difficult, and the hope that she will “be with us at the hour of our death.”
